Zexion, the Cloaked Schemer, was No. VI in Organization XIII and the leader of the underground members in Castle Oblivion. He sought to obtain Riku, and use him to counter the above-ground members' plot to overthrow the Organization. However, he was defeated once Riku accepted that he is both light and darkness.
Zexion attended a meeting where he was introduced to Roxas. A few days later, before a second meeting commenced, he explained to Lexaeus that Roxas' lack of consciousness was a result of him lacking both a heart and memories. He, alongside the other members, was then introduced to Organization XIII's newest member: Xion.[1] Three days later, Zexion found Roxas in the Grey Area, staring at Kingdom Hearts and explained how it is formed by hearts, collected by Roxas' Keyblade, and thus has the power to restore their hearts. He formally introduced himself to Roxas and presented him a dish of fermented fish viscera. Three days later, while in the Grey Area with Xigbar, Zexion noticed that Demyx had bailed on his mission again. The next day, he and Lexaeus lounged in the Grey Area.[2] He was one of the members assigned to Castle Oblivion along with Vexen, Lexaeus, Axel, Larxene, and Marluxia.[3]
Zexion is one of two Organization XIII members to have never met Sora. The other is Lexaeus.
Zexion was the fifth member of Organization XIII to be terminated.
Zexion was killed by Riku, but in the game, he was absorbed by Riku Replica after Axel promised the puppet it would get stronger if he does (but he was merely trying to eliminate any eyewitness accounts of his actions at Castle Oblivion.) Re:Chain of Memories incorporates the battle against Riku before he is severely wounded and found by Axel.
